Saguache Business Initiatives

As part of the Saguache Downtown Revitalization Project, ScSEED and the San Luis Valley Small Business Development Center are about to kick-off a new business assistance and counseling program in the Town of Saguache.
Every third Thursday of the month (with a few excepts - see below) Donna Wehe (Small Business Development Center Director) will be in Saguache to provide free, one-on-one, confidential business counseling to ANY Saguache new, potential or existing business owner. If you are interested in signing up for one of four time slots available each month please contact Kim Smoyer at 719-655-2775. The time slots are as follows: 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. You can meet with Donna at the Saguache Public Library or at your place of business.

We will also host a Business Roundtable forum each month while she is in Saguache. Each month a new topic will be discussed, some examples include:
- Tax tips for businesses
- Repair credit – how to get financing?
- Business strategies in a down economy
- Marketing and branding your business
- Selling on the web
- Design a website with an open source content management system
- How to start a business
- How to write a business plan
The next Business Roundtable will be on Thursday, October 15th at 12:00 PM at the Library. We will be alternating times between lunch hour (12:00 – 1:00 PM) and after work in the evening (5:00 – 6:00 PM) each month. So if you can’t make a lunch meeting please consider joining us on the months when the Business Roundtable will meet in the evenings after work.
