Compatible Economic Development

ScSEED helps to support small businesses and cooperative enterprises that sustainably use and add value to county resourcesLearn more about our recent projects:

ScSEED coordinatored the launch of the Saguache County Economic Development Website in 2012 to attract site selectors and business owners to the area.

ScSEED partnered with the Town of Saguache and other community partners to coordinate a large-scale renovation of Saguache's historic 4th Street downtown business district.  In 2009, the district was added to Colorado's Most Endangered Places List which helped promote the project and secure funding.  The majority of physical renovation work was completed in 2011 but ScSEED also helped to re-establish the Saguache Chamber of Commerce to promote local businesses and continues to support redevelopment projects like the downtown Saguache pocket park completed in 2013.

The Crestone Redevelopment Project (CRP) began as a partnership between ScSEED and the Town of Crestone to build capacity for renovating and redeveloping the streetscape within the downtown commercial district.  Click the link above to learn more and view the Master Plan.
